Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) is an EU Directive and is intended to regulate and minimise the impacts of industry on the environment through a single permitting process. It covers a wide range of issues including emissions to air, energy efficiency, noise and vibration, waste minimisation, raw material consumption, and soil and groundwater contamination. The IPPC regulations require the application of Best Available Techniques (BAT) to minimise the impacts of an installation on the environment.
